MOSES LAKE AIRSHOW PROUD TO BE A “FIRST CLASS” SPONSOR OF THE RUNWAY 5K/10K

How many marathons have you participated in? Were any of them at an airport? The Runway is a 5K/10K running race held on the runway at Grant County International Airport in Moses Lake, WA. Moses Lake Airshow is a proud first-class sponsor of this event with up to 1,500 runners expected to participate in one of the two courses. The Runway 5K/10K is unique because of its location. The main runway is over 13,000 feet long, one of the longest in the world. It will be shut down, along with the cross runway to allow runners to race on the same surface where 1,000s of aircraft take off and land annually.

The Runway 5K/10K is on June 6th, 2020 in celebration of the reopening of the main runway and will introduce the public to the community and the family-friendly environment there as well as local businesses, recreation, and tourism activities in Grant Country. This event offers runners a new setting to race at and all proceeds raised will support Moses Lake XC and further the development of local high school runners at the local, regional and national levels by creating opportunities otherwise not available for many of those students.

An exciting feature at the Runway 5K/10K will be fly-ins. Numerous requests from the private pilot community have been received, offering yet another attraction that will give participants and spectators an unforgettable experience. Due to the support already received from sponsors like Moses Lake Airshow and the Port of Moses Lake, the Runway 5K/10K is generating a lot of buzz leading up to a successful event expected to return year after year.

The Moses Lake Airshow is returning for the second year in a row on June 19th and 20th at Grant County International Airport. This year Moses Lake Airshow will be bigger and better than ever before with nine Aerial Performances, 50 static planes and tons fun for the entire family. Returning acts include Mini Jet and Vicky Benzing and new this year is the Official U.S. Army special operations command parachute demonstration team, The Black Daggers.

Early bird tickets for the Moses Lake Airshow go on sale April 1 to June 1, 2020. For more information about the 2-day family-friendly stay up to date on updates about the Air Show by following us on Facebook and Instagram and checking out our website.
