VOLUNTEER POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR THE MOSES LAKE AIRSHOW

The Moses Lake Airshow is soon approaching and we need your help to make it run smoothly. If you want to get involved in your community and be a part of a fantastic event, then check-out the volunteer positions we have open. Last year’s Moses Lake Airshow was such a huge success and this year is going to be bigger and better than ever with stellar performances and even more attractions, there’s lot’s to see and do as a volunteer, check them out below.

Volunteer Recruiter


The volunteer recruiter is in charge of finding and recruiting a sufficient number of volunteers to fill the various wrangler positions of the entire Airshow.


They are required to:

  • Gather contact information for all volunteers and log them into the master volunteer list maintained on Google Docs

  • Ascertain individual volunteer abilities and availability

  • Assign each volunteer to a specific job and pass their collected information to Job Wrangler managing their assigned job

  • Keep the master volunteer list up to date for the Airshow organizers and volunteer inclusion and coverage on the Airshow liability insurance policy

Ramp Boss


The Ramp Boss will Identify the number of volunteers and qualifications needed to assist with check-in as well as monitor static aircraft during setup and strike of the Airshow.


They are required to:

  • Communicatie their needs on to the Volunteer Recruiter before May 1 including daily shift hours to be filled, training and prep days the volunteers will need to attend

  • Be onsite to manage ramp/volunteers during all Airshow arrival/departure days of operation


Garbage Wrangler


The Garbage Wrangler must identify the number of volunteers and qualifications needed to collect and dispose of garbage during the Airshow hours throughout the Airshow.


They are required to:

  • Coordinate their needs with Volunteer Recruiter before May 1 including daily shift hours to be filled and training days the volunteers will need to attend

  • Identity and coordinate the number and type of vehicles needed for garbage collection and the number, type, and locations of garbage cans, bags, and dumpsters required for the entire Airshow with Airshow organizer

  • Be onsite to manage garbage collection and disposal during all Airshow days of operation


Parking Wrangler


The Parking Wrangler will create the Airshow parking plan consisting of the general flow of traffic, parking lot layout and determine the required signage to clarify parking instructions.


They are required to:

  • Identify the number of volunteers & qualifications needed to direct traffic and park cars throughout the Airshow

  • Coordinate needs with Volunteer Recruiter before May 1 including daily shift hours to be filled and setup and strike days volunteers will mark parking lots, hang and take down signs

  • Coordinate their needs for signage, parking lot striping and other equipment with the Airshow organizer

Be on-site to manage:

  • Parking lot marking and preparations

  • Orderly parking of cars during the Airshow

  • Cleanup after Airshow including the removal and storage of parking signs and equipment


Beer and Wine Garden Boss


The Beer and Wine Garden Boss will identify the number of volunteers and qualifications needed to serve and provide hospitality in the beer and wine garden locations including the VIP Party on June 18th.


They are required to:

  • Coordinate needs with Volunteer Recruiter before May 1 including daily shift hours to be filled

  • Be onsite to manage and support volunteers June 18th - 20th


Sponsor Support Boss


The Sponsor Support Boss will identify the number of volunteers and qualifications needed to support the Airshow sponsors from June 18th -20th including pickup, delivery, setup, catering and hospitality for sponsors and run errands.


They are required to:

  • Coordinate needs with Volunteer Recruiter before May 1 including daily shift hours to be filled

  • Manage and support volunteers and sponsors onsite June 18th - 20th

  • Create a Sponsor satisfaction questionnaire that they will distribute and follow-up after the Airshow (asking if they will sponsor again in 2021)

  • Hang all Sponsor signage and banners according to sponsor contracts

  • Prepare and distribute Sponsor packages containing tickets, passes, wrist bands, and other items according to sponsor contracts

VIP Party Leader


The VIP Party Leader takes lead for all local logistics, this will be a high profile event with celebrity entertainment, local personalities, show sponsors and politicians!


They are required to:

  • Manage setup and strike of stages, tables chairs, bar, sound, lights, and decor

  • Rehearsals & green room for performers

  • Meet and greet for celebrities

  • Traffic flow & crowd control for up to 2,000 attendees
